mmm , this is really a hard one to judge
experience could be triky
you dont gain rank with faction , you gain with fame , and fame means victory
so
pve rank should come from : quests , missions , bonus ... and the BOSSES
each could give some kind of fame , and then with lots of fame , some rank .. and then rank emotes ... but diferent from the pvp ones ofcorse.

I thought 15k and FOW armor sets were the equivilent of pve fame. If you don't want to show off your pve skills by wearing those, then why do you need an emote or anything else?

Some people don't like the way the expensive armours look (warrior FoW is a prime example), and there are people who judge based on looks much like fame in tombs.

It would be great indeed, I'd love some kind of PVE rank.
And Racthoh is right about the looks. I won't get to rank 9+ simply because I love the Wolf emote, and I won't ever get FOW Armor because I don't like the looks.

Your argument that farming monks will have level 9 emotes, while true, is a bogus argument, as the same counts for PvP emotes. It's about recognition, not a solid way to get a "gosu" party.

Nessaja ? You're not Naz by any chance are you ? Ignore this statement if you arent.
While I do agree that PvE players should have something to show for their efforts, there really isnt much effort involved in that part of the game. If PvE became sufficiently challenging (possibly in Chapter 2), some kind of recognition for success would be a welcome addition.

ok lets think of this. who are your claiming fame against? the computer driven NPCs? fame is used to represent fame amongst fellow PvP gamers on their own footing.
In fact I have been expecting rank required areas to appear in game someday. special competition area only for the highest of rank. an Elite area for want of a better word.. maybe something like a heroes challenge team arena. but again you would get people farming fame just to get there... so humm on second thought forget I even mentioned that idea...
Oh I should mention that there will be a special recognition implied for only PvE people in the form of factions and alliances... Control of towns and so forth... I'm not too sure how the dynamics of it works yet but it seems to be a kind of world domination thing... based on who controls certain areas of the game map I guess. in any case I can't wait to see what they have in mind...

Real fame
I know that it is not quite what the original poster was after, but there already exists a perfectly good way to gain a form of fame in pve.
Join a lot of groups, play well and considerately, be good humoured. You'll quickly be amazed at how many people know and like you- what more could you want? You'll probably get unsolicited invites to a lot of groups too.
It may not be quite what was intended but the post, but in reality I suspect that this will win far more admirers than a new emote. You won't be mobbed by adoring crowds, but I suspect that doesn't really happen to Rank 9's either

like I said before guys its harder for PVE to get a nice team that won't quit or just run around like look at me I can handel more monsters by my self.
Just for the hard missions or quest like the titans or assanding we could get rank/fame/emotes, ok lets make it this way another kind of emote, I try now for more then a month to get a nice (not quiter) group for some of the titan quests and no group stays and finishe the job, so giving rank or fame to this quests could make PVE players want to stay and finish the quest or mission.
This is what we all PVE players know, some dude saying he is uber strong and die's in the beginning of the quest or mission, he gots -15%dp and calls the rest noobs or call the monks weak and noob then leavs. with fame lots of ppl would stay and finish it.
Ranking for PVE has another plus point.
what if some IWAY team gets a rank 3/6/9 and then they change character and want to join a balanced team, you would ask for the rank and he/she can show it but he/she would not have any XP with other characters, but you would not get rank 3/6 or 9 player, you would get rank 3/6 or 9 IWAY player. now for PVE players we go and do all the missions and quests and know what all our skills doing, so we do not just grab some skill and make a character.
the fun part:
some dude with a PVE character and no rank would not get in a PvP group for not having any rank.
PvP character rank 3 gets in every PvP with any character that he/she has.
You guys think this is fair?????

Heya Hand long time no see.
Anyway they should do sort of an Honors List for PvE Only characters stating what Quests they have conquered rather the harder ones so people can see them and go... whoa he did that?
As for GvG matches I thought we did get fame from those... errr rather not sure since all my characters are PvE.

You mean like: Pwnd gew noob!! laffin
I guess it's some sort of ego thing, inferior people in real life who's only outlet is smart mouthing in a place where there are no repercussions. The 90lb weaklings, etc. etc. trying to fit in. Shame if it takes a game world for one to fit in.

FoW and 15k armor statement =/= fame for PvE , you get that armor by spending a lot of time in Lions Arch trading, OR farming, both arent very good indicators of PvE experience. I don't see why people are stubborn on this, it simply has nothing to do with PvE, nor are you picked in groups because of your armor.
As for PvE not being hard enough, or that fame should be a PvP specific thing because fame "fame is used to represent fame amongst fellow PvP gamers on their own footing". That's just being close-minded, and not totally true either. They are a different ballgame, the new UW, FoW and the old UW do require some type of skill. And so does SF if you don't do keg-holding (which should be fixed some time by now...).
As for fame = making friends and get known... I really don't need advise on my social life in guildwars, I already have a guild and friends, that's not the point here, the same counts for PvP either way.
That said - I don't believe that there is any reason for PvE not to have an emote when PvP does have an emote.

Because any idiot can beat PvE blindfolded, mentally impared, with no armour, with nothing on their skill bar, and while being beaten with a mace.
